This Westerlies wine was made especially for sail cargo.

A smooth, young and fresh unoaked red wine, it is young and intense. Profile leans towards red fruits with a floral touch. Very pleasent fruity and fresh finale.

Producer

Quinta do Romeu has been owned by the Menéres Family Estate for five generations, since 1874. It covers several thousand hectares of olive groves, cork trees and vineyards in Tras-Os-Montes, northeast Portugal.

Certified organic

Locality

Tras-os-Montes northeast Portugal. within the district of Bragança.

Grape varieties

Blend of traditional Douro grapes varieties, mainly Tinta Barroca, but also Tinta Roriz, Tinto Cão, Touriga Franca and Touriga Nacional from the wine makers own vineyards.

Production

Spontaneous co-fermentations in open thread tanks (lagares) with gentle pigeage and pumping over.
