Raybel at Estuary Festival

‘Rebellion and Joy’ were carried throughout the week. It may take a few posts to truly reflect the magic we created during Estuary Festival.

‘Changing Tides’ was a collaboration project between @raybelcharters and multi instrumentalist @benjinmusic - exploring uneven historical legacies of maritime trade and the manifold consequences of post-industrial decline in contemporary Britain. A jammed packed programme with @benjinmusiq @goblin.band @cirennemusic @sonny_brazil @descend_from_yr_barren_throne @davidnettleingham

This was a great one to project manage, alongside Gareth and the @estuaryfestival team. A little nail biting at times, as we agreed to be the lead vessel partner back in May 2024. Raybel’s restoration was still heavily underway & it was just after a rat got trapped between the planking amidships and chewed its way back to freedom 🐀🤬 slight set back 🤦🏼‍♀️

Ever the optimists, it felt good to set a deadline and put trust in our dedicated shipwrights and volunteer workforce - big up Laurie, John, Alana, Mark and our volunteers for hitting it hard to get her seaworthy in time.

This was the first time Raybel was under sail in 30 years, so a monumental moment for us all … Raybel did us proud ⛵️

More to come ✌️⛵️
